The Chairperson of the Commission on Ethics of High-Ranking Officials Participated in the Meeting of Anti-corruption Network for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (ACN)

Siranush Sahakyan, Chairperson of the Commission on Ethics of High-Ranking Officials, participated in the plenary meeting of the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Anti-Corruption Network for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (ACN) on July 3-5 of 2018, in Paris. Anti-corruption decision-makers from countries in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, members of the OECD Working Group on Bribery, as well as representatives from international organizations and civil society participated in the meeting.
Bilateral consultation, initial discussions and sectoral evaluations on OECD ACN Fourth Round Monitoring reports (will be published on 2018) on Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, and Ukraine, as well as progress reports on Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan were conducted at the meeting.
It should be mentioned, that, 3 recommendations (Ethics Commission, conflict of interest, immunity) from the 23 recommendations (anti-corruption policy, surveys, NGO participation and awareness raising, anti-corruption institutions, criminalization of corruption, immunities, bank secrecy and complex financial cases, investigation and prosecution of corruption, statistics, Ethics Commission, ethics commission in public institutions, code of ethics, merit base recruitment, conflict of interests, whistleblowing, ethics training, transparency and discretion in public administration, public procurement, access to information, judiciary, business integrity) directed towards the corruption prevention undertaken by the Republic of Armenian within the scope of the Istanbul Anti-Corruption Action Plan, were evaluated as fully implemented. Therefore, the 2 recommendations (Ethics Commission, conflict of interest) directly relate to the Commission on Ethics of High-Ranking Officials.
