In the outcomes of the declaration system reforms, Armenia has recorded a progress in the fight against corruption: S.Sahakyan

  A Conference on “Preventing Corruption and Promoting Human Rights” was organized on November 27 of 2017, during which the works directed at the implementation of the recommendations by Council of Europe’s Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) on Armenia were discussed. “In the outcomes of the declaration system reforms, Armenia has recorded a progress in the fight against corruption. The joint work with the Ministry of Justice has given serious results. Our ideas, that will increase the effectiveness of the fight against corruption, were brought to life. The scope of the declarant high-ranking officials has been enlarged” – mentioned Siranush Sahakyan, the Chairperson of the Commission on Ethics of High-Ranking Official during the conference. David Harutyunyan, the Minister of Justice, Arman Tatoyan, the Human Rights Defender, Siranush Sahakyan, the Chairperson of the Commission on Ethics of High-Ranking Official, Natalia Voutova, the Head of the Council of Europe Office in Yerevan, Piotr Switalski, Ambassador, Head of Delegation of the European Union to Armenia, Gianluca Esposito, Executive Secretary of GRECO and other high-ranking officials participated in the conference. The measures taken by the Armenian authorities directed towards the anti-corruption and human right protection were discussed during the Conference, as well as a reference to the sectors with corruption risks was made and the prior problems and recommendations in the fight against corruption were presented. The Conference on “Preventing Corruption and Promoting Human Rights” was organized by the Council of Europe, the Human Rights Defender of Armenia, the Judiciary, and the Commission on Ethics f High Ranking Officials of Armenia within the framework of the Project “Support to the implementation of the judicial reform in Armenia”.
