THE ANTI-CORRUPTION COUNCIL OF ARMENIA HAS HELD ITS FIRST MEETING
The Anti-Corruption Council of Armenia held its first meeting on July 29, 2015, which was attended by council member Siranush Sahakyan, the Chairperson of the Commission on Ethics of High-Ranking Officials of Armenia. The meeting agenda also included issues related to asset declaration system of high-level officials and persons affiliated with them.
Siranush Sahakyan delivered a speech focusing on sanctions for non-compliance of the norms regulating declaration submission processes. Besides the issues of promotion of declaration submission obligation fulfillment by the high-ranking officials of Armenia, the Chairperson has presented the international sanction systems related to violations of declaration legislations, including institutional models of violation investigations, the types of sanctions and their enforcement that could be applicable for the development of Armenian declaration system.
