COMMISSION ON ETHICS OF HIGH-RANKING OFFICIALS HAD A MEETING WITH THE DELEGATION OF WORLD BANK
The Commission on Ethics of High-Ranking Officials had a meeting with the delegation of World Bank led by Migara De Silva and David Melikyan. Initiatives introduced by the Ethics Commission with the support of the World Bank, the obstacles related to their implementation and opportunities of increasing their efficiency were discussed at the meeting. Meanwhile, the Ethics Commission presented the possible directions and tools for further cooperation with the World Bank based on the development needs of the Ethics Commission and ethics system in Armenia overall. Particularly, the required measures for the implementation (with the support of the World Bank) of declaration verification system based on the electronic data were discussed. The last will give an opportunity to reveal incomplete or false data in declarations to build more credible electronic declaration system. At the same time, the World Bank representatives focused on the importance of eliminating the legal obstacles of ethics system development while expressing their willingness to support the overall capacity building of the Ethics Commission.
