The regular training of integrity coordinators on the elements of the integrity system has been carried out

On May 21 and 22 of this year, within the framework of the program ‘Strengthening National Capacities for the Effective Prevention of and Fight against Economic Crime in Armenia’ the Corruption Prevention Commission (hereinafter referred to as the Commission), with the support of the Council of Europe and in cooperation with the Council of Europe Office in Armenia, conducted a two-day training course for integrity coordinators of public authorities on the topic ‘Integrity Elements Applicable to Public Servants.’

Tigranuhi Khalafyan, head of the Commission’s Public Servants’ Conduct Oversight Department, presented to the participants the national integrity system as well as the applicable norms and practices of domestic legislation. In his turn, Valts Kalnins, an internationally recognized Council of Europe (CoE) expert in the field of anti-corruption, delivered a report and led the discussions, presenting the experience of European countries and relevant CoE standards.

The trainers dedicated a separate discussion to the regulations concerning the political restraint and political neutrality of individuals holding public positions and public service offices, answering participants’ questions regarding restrictions that are of key importance during pre-election periods.

A total of 39 integrity coordinators, as well as employees of the Commission, participated in the training course.
