On International Anti-Corruption Day, December 9, the conference titled \u201cChallenges in the Fight Against Corruption and Ways to Overcome Them\u201d was held, concluding the nationwide month-long awareness campaign \u201cLet\u2019s Unite Forces to Prevent Corruption\u201d. The conference was attended by high-ranking officials of the Republic of Armenia, ambassadors, and representatives from international organizations, civil society, and partner institutions.<\/span>
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

The event was opened with speeches by RA Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, Acting Chair of the Corruption Prevention Commission (hereinafter referred to as the Commission) Mariam Galstyan, Deputy Chair of the Anti-Corruption Committee Mushegh Babayan, and USAID Armenia Mission Director John Allelo. A video message was also delivered by RA Minister of Justice Srbuhi Galyan.<\/span>

In her speech, M. Galstyan congratulated the attendees on International Anti-Corruption Day, noting that this symbolic day provides a unique opportunity to reassess the important mission undertaken in the fight against corruption, summarize the work done, analyze existing challenges, and outline future steps. Mariam Galstyan emphasized that through joint discussions on anti-corruption efforts, there is a unique opportunity to evaluate the effectiveness of the work and reinvigorate the country\u2019s priorities in the fight against corruption.<\/span>

\nWithin the framework of the panel discussion titled \u201cLegal and Institutional Tools and Challenges of Interagency Anti-Corruption Efforts in Armenia\u201d, the work of the bodies comprising the anti-corruption institutional system was presented. M. Galstyan outlined the work and achievements of the Commission during 2024, the existing challenges, and the main directions for addressing them.<\/span>

\nDuring the event, an award ceremony was held for the \u201cPrevent Corruption\u201d competition organized for public servants, where a total of 25 public servants from various agencies received incentive prizes.
