On May 20, Commission Member Lilit Aleksanyan participated as a speaker in the panel discussion titled “Digital Democracy and Transparent Governance,” organized by the Secretariat of the Open Government Partnership initiative under the Prime Minister’s Office and the Armenia branch of the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES).
Within the framework of the topic “Transparency in Political Finance and Digital Tools,” Ms. Aleksanyan presented the digitization processes currently being implemented by the Commission to enhance the effectiveness of oversight over political parties’ financial activities, as well as the upcoming reforms.
She specifically noted that political parties are already submitting their annual reports through the Commission’s digital platform, and starting from June 1, these reports will be published on the Commission’s official website. Aleksanyan also outlined the Commission’s vision for the development of digital tools in the area of political finance, including automated analysis, identification of risk factors, and interoperability with other databases and data systems.
