The “Transparency International Anti-Corruption Center” (TIAC) NGO has published the 2024 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) report today, in which Armenia’s score remains unchanged at 47 points. On February 11, TIAC organized a discussion titled “Corruption Perceptions Index 2024: Challenges and Solutions,” dedicated to the publication of the CPI and the discussion of its results.
The discussion was attended by members of the Corruption Prevention Commission, representatives from state institutions, international organizations, civil society, and the media sector.
During the panel discussion, Mariam Galstyan, Acting Chair of the Commission, delivered a speech, addressing the risk indicators established by the Commission as a basis for the analysis of asset declarations, the practical application of situational declarations, the financing of political parties, the importance of distinguishing between gifts and donations, and conflicts of interest in public procurement. She noted that the legislation has numerous shortcomings:
“The Law on Procurement needs to be revised by introducing effective mechanisms that will help manage the situation and prevent corruption risks,” said M. Galstyan.
