On December 18, Mariam Galstyan, Acting Chairperson of the Corruption Prevention
Commission, and Commission member Lilit Aleksanyan met with Oksanna Abrahamyan, Director of the Armenian branch of the USAID-funded “Resilient Institutions Against Strategic Corruption” program implemented by Millennium Partners Consulting, and program advisor Alen Mkrtchyan.
They presented that the program is being implemented in Armenia and Moldova with the aim of combating strategic corruption and illegal political financing. It will promote regional cooperation, contribute to the institutional capacity development of state institutions, and improve risk analysis and management systems.
The program also aims to enhance the capacities of media, civil society organizations, and state structures to counter disinformation and overcome information manipulations stemming from corruption.
Welcoming the guests, the Commission members emphasized two key areas of collaboration within the framework of the initiative: regional cooperation in the exchange of information in the fight against corruption and the management of sectoral risks.
During the meeting, the parties agreed to join efforts to strengthen cooperation in the mentioned areas to combat corruption.
