On February 12, Mariam Galstyan, Acting Chair of the Corruption Prevention Commission, received the Election Needs Assessment Mission of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).
During the meeting, the mechanisms for overseeing political finance were presented, along with the functions of the Corruption Prevention Commission within the framework of political party financing, as well as the differences in the legislative regulations applied during the 2021 National Assembly elections and the upcoming 2026 elections. In particular, the procedures for reviewing annual financial reports of political parties and for oversight during the pre-election campaign period were outlined, as well as the tools for ensuring accountability and transparency, the existing gaps, and the Commission’s activities related to disclosure and monitoring.
The parties emphasized the importance of continued cooperation in ensuring transparency, accountability, and integrity in electoral processes, while also highlighting the role of engagement with international organizations in strengthening democratic institutions.
