The employees of the Commission participated in a regional workshop held in Chisinau.

On March 30–31, 2026, a regional workshop was held in Chisinau, the capital of the Republic of Moldova, on the topic: “Electoral Integrity: Preventing Democratic Backsliding and Enhancing Resilience through the Detection of Illicit Financial Flows.” The event was organized within the framework of the Council of Europe and the European Union’s “Partnership for Good Governance” (PGG III) program and brought together representatives from the fields of electoral processes, political finance oversight, anti-corruption, and anti-money laundering.

Representatives of the Commission took part in the workshop. During the event, Tigran Tsaturyan, Head of the Commission’s Declarations Analysis Department, presented Armenia’s experience in the oversight of political party finances, addressing the Commission’s powers, the mechanisms for reviewing annual reports, and the tools used to identify violations and apply relevant procedures.

During the two-day workshop, discussions focused on the risks of corruption, money laundering, and terrorist financing in electoral processes, international standards of transparency in political financing, circumvention mechanisms, as well as challenges related to the use of digital tools and crypto-assets.

Special attention was also given to enhancing cooperation among bodies involved in electoral processes, improving information exchange, and increasing the effectiveness of financial investigations.
