On October 17, members of the Corruption Prevention Commission participated in a discussion, led by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, aimed at raising awareness of elements of the integrity system.
Mariam Galstyan, Acting Chairperson of the Corruption Prevention Commission, addressing the elements of the integrity system, emphasized their importance in preventing corruption, upholding ethical standards, and enhancing public trust in institutions and officials.
In particular, the discussion focused on the principles of conduct for public officials and civil servants and the resulting rules of behavior, restrictions on accepting gifts, incompatibility requirements, conflicts of interest, and other limitations arising from the performance of official duties. Attention was also given to the rules of conduct established by the Code of Conduct and their practical interpretations.
Mariam Galstyan provided a detailed overview of the elements of the integrity system for public officials, legislative amendments, and the continuous development of the sector. She presented the Commission’s practical applications, methodology, positions, and recommendations related to legal and methodological reforms aimed at strengthening the integrity institution. As a result of the discussion, the continuous improvement of the integrity system and public accountability was emphasized, and it was decided to make such discussions a regular practice.
