YSU Students Educational Visit to the Commission

On December 3, as part of the nationwide campaign “Unite Against Corruption,” members of the Corruption Prevention Commission hosted students from the Faculty of Law of Yerevan State University.

Mariam Galstyan, Acting Chair of the Commission, presented to the students the key activities carried out by the Commission’s professional divisions, including: Analysis of declarations, Integrity assessments, Oversight of public servants’ conduct, Corruption risk assessments, Anti-corruption education and awareness campaigns, Legal support for proceedings.

Commission member Aramais Pashinyan presented the declaration system, its examination process, and associated challenges. He also discussed the obligation of officials’ family members to submit declarations, emphasizing the importance of the declaration system as a mechanism for ensuring transparency.

During the meeting, an active discussion took place where Commission members addressed students’ questions. These questions covered topics such as the Commission’s independence and autonomy, the process of integrity assessments and the resulting conclusions, awareness-raising activities, the standard rules of conduct and the code of ethics, the declaration system, and media publications.

The Commission places great importance on the role of youth in preventing corruption. Initiatives like these aim to enhance awareness about corruption and mechanisms to counter it, as well as to foster a culture of “Zero tolerance” towards corruption.
