Corruption Prevention Commission of the Republic of Armenia

The second course for community and civil servants was organized under the initiative of the Commission and the Eurasian Cooperation Foundation within the framework of the "Support to Civil Society for Impact on Reforms" program with the support of the Sweden government.

In the framework of the “Fostering integrity and preventing corruption in the public sector in Armenia” EU Twinning Program, it is planned to implement the development and modernization of educational programs in the direction of corruption prevention, as well as the creation of necessary educational materials and their localization.

On the initiative of the Commission and the Eurasian Cooperation Fund, a course on "Conflict of Interest and Rules of Conduct for Public Servants" of the "Support to Civil Society" program was held at the Ijevan InfoHouse, which was attended by the administrative heads of the Ijevan community and the employees of the municipality.

In the regional center of Vanadzor, the employees of the Commission presented information on the main directions of the RA government's anti-corruption policy, the institutional system of fighting corruption, the implementation of the integrity system, the activities of the Commission, the works and programs carried out in the fight against corruption.

The Corruption Prevention Commission continues public awareness meetings on the topic of corruption prevention. The second meeting with educators and parents of school-aged children took place on 19th October at the Lori regional state college.

On October 17, a group of students from Vanadzor and Alaverdi universities and colleges of Lori Province of RA were hosted by the Corruption Prevention Commission on a study visit. The workshop was attended by representatives of the state administration system, non-governmental organizations, as well as the USA, Lithuania, Malaysia and South Korea.

"For years, our employees, with the support of USAID, tried to collect the problems that appeared within the framework of the implementation of the law and find directions for their solution. This is another platform so that all of us can understand together in which direction we are moving, and the new law will be what we all envisioned and will be able to cover all the gaps as much as possible," noted Mariam Galstyan, a member of the Commission, thanking the interested bodies for showing interest in the draft law and participating at the discussion.

"There are cases when people who received a positive conclusion are appointed to the relevant positions, but I would like to mention that we also have certain cases where people who received a negative conclusion were also appointed to the relevant positions."

The government sees corruption as a challenge to build a legally secure and economically strong democratic state.

On October 4, the official opening event of the European Union “Fostering integrity and preventing corruption in the public sector in Armenia” Twinning Program took place in the Ballroom of the Best Western Plus Congress Hotel in Yerevan.

Making amendments and additions to the law "On the Corruption Prevention Commission" and related laws aims to ensure the effectiveness of the activity of the Commission.
