On October 12, a discussion on the package of laws on amendments and additions to the law "On the Corruption Prevention Commission" and related laws took place at the Ibis Hotel in Yerevan.

"For years, our employees, with the support of USAID, tried to collect the problems that appeared within the framework of the implementation of the law and find directions for their solution. This is another platform so that all of us can understand together in which direction we are moving, and the new law will be what we all envisioned and will be able to cover all the gaps as much as possible," noted Mariam Galstyan, a member of the Commission, thanking the interested bodies for showing interest in the draft law and participating at the discussion.

During the discussion of the law, the employees of the Commission, each of them presented the main proposed changes of the Commission. Then there was a discussion of the observations and suggestions received from the interested bodies and other persons regarding the legislative changes.

Barbara James, the head of USAID Armenia Integrity Project, also made a speech of welcome. She emphasized the importance of discussing the law for the continuation of Armenia's fight against corruption.

"The Armenia Integrity Project has supported the CPC to eliminate legislative gaps and legal uncertainties in many legal documents related to the prevention of corruption in Armenia. "The drafting of a package of laws on making amendments and additions to the law on the Corruptio Prevention Commission and related laws aims to ensure the effectiveness of the activity of the CPC," said Barbara James.

The draft package of laws on making amendments and additions to the law "On the Corruption Prevention Commission” and related laws was posted on the e-draft website by the Ministry of Justice for public discussion before being submitted to the National Assembly.
