Visit of the CPC Delegation to Kyiv

From October 4 to 7, 2021, members of the Armenian Corruption Prevention Commission, Aramayis Pashinyan, Mariam Galstyan and Narek Hambardzumyan, were on a working visit to the Republic of Ukraine.

The delegation of the Corruption Prevention Commission held a number of meetings in the field of corruption prevention with various structures of the state and public sector of Kyiv. The delegation of Armenia was received at the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption of Ukraine. During the meeting, issues related to expanding cooperation and transferring the successes achieved in different directions in the prevention of corruption to each other were discussed. The representatives of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption of Ukraine presented in detail the legislative regulations in the field, the implemented electronic tools and the features related to their practical application. Taking into account that both in Armenia and Ukraine, corruption prevention bodies were created after the revolutions that took place as a result of the civil struggle, the parties emphasized the active interaction of the relevant structures in this direction.

The CPC delegation also visited the National Anti-Corruption Office of Ukraine, which is a unified body investigating corruption crimes committed by officials. During the meeting, the ways of cooperation between law enforcement and prevention agencies, existing challenges and steps to overcome them were presented.

Taking into account that within the framework of the anti-corruption policy adopted by the government of the Republic of Armenia, it is planned to form anti-corruption courts in our country, the members of the Corruption Prevention Commission met with the judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine, Kateryna Shiroka, to learn about the work, successes and experience of the court.

Emphasizing the role of civil society in the prevention of corruption, the Armenian delegation also had meetings with representatives of Ukrainian political society.

The United States government supports the prevention of corruption in the Republic of Armenia through the United States Agency for International Development, which supports emerging anti-corruption cooperation and efforts in the fight against corruption in Armenia, Ukraine, Europe and the Eurasian region.
