THE COMMISSION ON ETHICS OF HIGH-RANKING OFFICIALS HAS INITIATED ACTIVITIES RELATED TO PUBLIC OFFICIALS’ CODE OF CONDUCT ELABORATION

The Commission on Ethics of High-Ranking Officials continues its efforts towards promotion of high-ranking officials’ integrity in public administration sector. In 2015, the Commission initiated activities related to drafting an exemplary code of conduct for high-ranking officials and collaborated with international organizations and reputable experts of the field to increase the effectiveness of the draft elaboration process. Particularly, the Commission was provided with technical support by the experts of SIGMA - a joint initiative of European Union and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), who, within ongoing support foreseen by the project, visited the Ethics Commission on January 12-13, 2016 to discuss the draft code of conduct elaborated by the Commission and its implementation action plan. The discussions on the draft code of conduct are intended with the interested parties after summing up the results of the discussions with SIMGA experts Wojciech Zielinski and Aive Pevkur.
At the same time, the Commission has invited Professor Gerhard Kruip, Dean of Faculty Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, Germany and Christopth Harsdorf, representative of German Federal Enterprise for International Cooperation to have their expert opinion on the document.
