Corruption Prevention Commission of the Republic of Armenia

Siranush Sahakayan, The Chairperson of the Commission on Ethics of High-Ranking Officials and Hovhannes Manukyan, the Minister of Justice of Armenia signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on May 15, 2015. This memorandum will ensure the providing data to the Ethics Commission from the state electronic registries of the Civil Acts Registration Office and the State Register of the Legal Entities under the Ministry of Justice. As a result, the Ethics Commission will have an opportunity to check the reliability of data provided in the asset and income declarations of high-ranking officials as well as to identify ethics rule violations and conflict of interest cases based on the mentioned data.
Among other initiatives, the Ethics Commission has come up with the suggestion of establishing an interagency working group, which will prepare a road map of commitment implementation specified in the EU European Neighborhood Policy Action Plan’s financing agreement. It should be noted, that the road map will also include the elaboration of necessary legislative changes related to the functions of Ethics Commission and corruption prevention initiatives. The commission establishment activities are now in process.
